Larissa put on its festivities with the lighting of the Christmas tree. The 15-meter (50-foot) fir tree dominates the city center while small decorated trees and houses have been adorned in the square.
The Larissa Municipality Philharmonic Orchestra gave the signal for the start of the celebration and Mayor Thanasis Mamakos counted down to the lighting of the tree that illuminated the entire central square, according to onlarissa.gr.
Larissa will be filled with “lights, glitter, music, smiles, optimism, and hope” during the festive days, as the mayor of Larissa, Thanasis Mamakos, said in his address. The lighting ceremony was followed by a concert with Stelios Rocco.
