Prince William at the inauguration of the Cathedral of Notre Dame in Paris

The President-elect of the United States will also be present as well as some 40 heads of state and government - Zelenski is invited

Prince William will visit Paris on Saturday to attend the reopening of the Cathedral of Notre Dame, which was destroyed by fire five years ago, Kensington Palace announced Friday.

William will attend the ceremony on behalf of the United Kingdom at the request of the British government, the palace said.

US President-elect Donald Trump will also be present as well as some 40 heads of state and government, according to a list released by the French presidency. Ukrainian President Volodymyr “Zelensky is a guest. He wishes to come and his visit is possible,” a diplomatic source also told the Agence France-Presse today.

Numerous European leaders have already confirmed that they will be present: German President Frank-Walter Steinmeier, Italian President Sergio Matarella, Polish President Andrei Duda, Croatian President Zoran Milanovic, Bulgarian President Rumen Radev, Estonian President Alar Karis, Finnish President Alexander Stub, Lithuanian President Gitan Naousenda. European Commission President Ursula von der Leyen will also attend the event. Among the crowned guests expected to attend are the Belgian royal couple Philip and Mathilde, as well as Prince Albert of Monaco.
