A case of attempted manslaughter is being filed by the police against the 43-year-old Lebanese man who completely unprovoked attacked a young woman with a crowbar and injured her, leaving the victim hospitalized and in danger of losing her sight in one eye.
In fact, according to reports, the 43-year-old had made an identical attack in the past, but had been released by the justice system.
The case, which in the way it happened is strongly reminiscent of the murder of the 36-year-old woman in Heraklion, unfolded around 3pm today, on Kallidromiou Street in Exarchia.
The victim was walking down the street without being able to suspect what was to follow. The perpetrator hit her and tried to escape.
Eventually he was spotted by police officers of the direct action in Stournari and arrested.
It was discovered that he had been arrested again last June.
At that time he had been accused that the assault on a woman was sexually motivated, had been brought to justice and released.
