Prime Minister Kyriakos Mitsotakis is visiting Saudi Arabia on the occasion of the first meeting of the two countries’ Supreme Cooperation Council.
Mitsotakis, who will meet with Saudi Arabia’s Crown Prince Mohammed bin Salman, arrived a short while ago with the government team accompanying him to the Saudi Arabian oasis of Al Ula.
Mitsotakis is accompanied by ministers: Foreign Giorgos Gerapetritis, Defence Nikos Dendias, Development Takis Theodorikakis, Energy Theodoros Skylakakis, Tourism Olga Kefalogianni and Culture Minister Lina Mendoni. The two Deputy Ministers of Foreign Affairs Alexandra Papadopoulou and Kostas Fragogiannis and the Deputy Minister of Sports Yannis Vroutsis are also part of the delegation.
For Mitsotakis, this is the third visit to Saudi Arabia (he had visited Riyadh in 2020 and 2021), while Mohammed bin Salman has also visited Athens in the summer of 2022 when the establishment of the Supreme Cooperation Council was signed to consolidate the strategic nature of our bilateral relations.
