Newsroom January 15 01:03

In recent days, Nikitas Kaklamanis’ name has been mentioned as the most likely choice to succeed Mr. Tasoulas as Speaker of Parliament.

Among the circulating scenarios, the name of the First Deputy Speaker of Parliament, Giannis Plakiotakis, has also been mentioned, though another figure from the ruling New Democracy party cannot be ruled out.

It should be noted that the Speaker of Parliament is elected through a vote requiring a majority of at least 151 Members of Parliament.
