The weather will improve today and tomorrow, with forecasters predicting sunshine and rising temperatures, but frost will remain mainly in the early morning.

Giannis Kallianos said in his forecast that “mini Alcyonides are coming, but cold will remain early morning and late evening and frost in the morning in places”. He also called for fog in the closed basins in the north and central regions.

Arniakos: “No Alcyonides”

Minimum temperature reached -6 degrees Celsius yesterday morning

Negative minimum temperatures were recorded in the early hours of Friday 17/01 in several areas mainly in the northern mainland, with the lowest minimum temperature recorded in Seli at -5.9°C. Today’s weather

Expecting generally clear weather with local clouds. Frost is expected overnight and early in the morning, mainly in parts of the central and northern mainland, while visibility is likely to be locally limited.

The temperature will range in Western Macedonia from -5 to 8 degrees Celsius, in the rest of northern Greece from -6 to 11-12 degrees Celsius, in Epirus from -3 to 16-17 degrees (locally up to 18-19 degrees), in Thessaly from -4 to 11, in the rest of the mainland from -3 to 17-18, in the Ionian Islands from 5 to 15, in the North Aegean islands from 0 to 11, and in the rest of the Aegean islands and in Crete from 5 to 17 degrees Celsius.

In the Aegean Sea, the winds will blow generally from the north with intensities of up to 5-6 Beaufort and locally up to 7 Beaufort. In the Ionian Sea the winds will blow from east-southeast directions with intensities up to 5-6 Beaufort and in the southern parts initially up to 7 Beaufort with gradual weakening.

In Attica clear weather is expected. The winds will blow generally north with intensities up to 3-4 Beaufort and in the east up to 5 Beaufort. The temperature will range from 5 to 14 degrees, but in the north it will be 3-4 degrees lower.

In Thessaloniki, clear weather is expected. The winds will blow from the north-northwest in general directions with intensities up to 2-3 Beaufort. The temperature will range from 3 to 11-12 degrees.

The weather on Sunday 19-01-2025

In the west a few clouds that will gradually increase with the possibility of light rain on the Ionian islands from the evening hours. In the rest of the country the weather will be generally clear. Visibility in the morning and at night will be limited in some places.

The winds will blow in the west southeast 3 to 5 Beaufort in the south of Ionian Sea and in the east from northerly directions 4 to 5 and in the Aegean Sea locally 6 Beaufort.

The temperature will rise slightly towards the maximum values. It will reach 12 to 15 degrees Celsius in Macedonia and Thrace, 15 to 17 degrees Celsius in the rest of the mainland and locally 18 degrees Celsius in the western and southern mainland and 17 to 19 degrees Celsius on the islands. In the morning hours there will be frost in the north.

In the morning and in the afternoon the weather will be mild in the north and in the south.

Scattered clouds, sometimes more dense, with rain initially in the west and south and gradually in the rest of the regions, mainly on the mainland. Sporadic thunderstorms are expected in the west. Occasional snowfall will occur in the mountains of the Peloponnese, Central Greece, Epirus and western Macedonia.

Winds will blow in the west west west southwest 4 to 6 and locally in the Ionian Sea 7 Beaufort. In the east will blow northeast 4 to 5 and in the northeastern Aegean Sea locally 6 and possibly occasionally up to 7 Beaufort.

The temperature will drop slightly, mainly in the north, with maximum values.

Cloudy weather with local rain is forecast throughout the country, mainly in the west, the Cyclades, Crete, the islands of the eastern Aegean and the Dodecanese. Sporadic thunderstorms will occur in the Ionian Sea, the Peloponnese and gradually in the Cyclades and Crete. Occasional snowfall will occur mainly in the northwestern mountains of the mainland in the morning hours.

Winds will blow from southerly directions from 3 to 5 Beaufort and occasionally in the morning hours in the Ionian Sea up to 6 Beaufort.

The temperature will drop slightly further, mainly in the west and north.

The weather on Wednesday 22-01-2025

Cloudy weather with local rain is forecast throughout the country. Sporadic thunderstorms will occur in the Ionian and Peloponnese and gradually in the Cyclades, Crete and the islands of the eastern Aegean. Occasional snowfall will occur in the northwestern mountains of the mainland.

Winds will blow west southwest 3 to 4 and in the south locally up to 5 Beaufort.

The temperature will not change significantly.
