The newly formed European Parliament group called Patriots for Europe, which hosts within its ranks Hungarian Prime Minister Victor Orban, the National Rally (RN) of Marine Le Pen from France and the Freedom Party (FPO) of Herbert Kickle from Austria, has decided to hold a “make Europe great again” rally in Madrid on 8 February.
The rally’s title naturally echoes the campaign slogan and rhetoric of U.S. President Donald Trump, which the Patriots party is now emulating across Europe, POLITICO reports.
In the European Council, the Patriots are currently only represented by Orbán, but this may soon change as Austria’s Freedom Party (FPÖ) is in coalition government negotiations, with its leader Herbert Kickle seen by many as the country’s next chancellor.
