A whole arsenal of weapons was found in the home of the perpetrators of the mafia-style murder of a 47-year-old man in Thracomacedones last December.

Two Albanians two Albanians, described as professional hitmen, were arrested yesterday for the murder and proceeded to a paid contract of death.

At the same time, the Hellenic Police continue to investigate whether there are others involved in the cold-blooded murder. A detailed statement from the ELAS

By the Sub-Directorate for the Prosecution of Crimes against Life and Property, of the Directorate for the Fight against Organized Crime, the case of homicide of a foreigner, committed on 15-12-2024 in Thracomacedones, was solved.

As it emerged from the investigation, the alleged perpetrators are -2- foreigners, who were identified and arrested in the morning hours of yesterday, Monday, January 27, 2025, in Peristeri and Nea Smyrni, Attica.

A case was filed against them fora  criminal organization, manslaughter, forgery, weapons, and drugs.

As to the background of the case, at noon on Sunday, December 15, 2024, the defendants approached -3- persons who were moving on foot and fired against them, resulting in the fatal injury of one of them and the injury of the other -2- persons, while they then fled the scene in a vehicle.

From the subsequent collection and evaluation of information and all the preliminary investigation material gathered, they located the vehicle used in the commission of the attack parked in an area of Nea Smyrni.

As it turned out, the defendants used a total of -4- vehicles for the commission of the crime, switching from one to another in chains, to avoid identification and tracking.

To avoid detection, the offenders changed the registration plates on the vehicle in which they approached the victims, parked it continuously at different places, and approached it regularly to keep an eye on it, while maintaining a low profile, without declaring their real details on leases, contracts, etc.

From the searches carried out at homes, a total of the following were found and seized:

a firearm,
-2- war rifles, type “KALASHNIKOV”
-2- bulletproof vests,
-118- cartridges,
-6- magazines,
-3- silencers,
handcuffs,
-3- knives,
electrical discharge device (TASER),
portable geographical positioning device (GPS),
-6- grams of raw cannabis,
several mobile phones and SIM cards,
drone device,
binoculars,
-5- vehicles,
a car key; and
-79,500- euros.
The arrested persons were taken to the relevant prosecuting authority.
