Specifically, at 19:00 tomorrow, Golden Dawn and other organizations had announced a gathering at the Imia Fallen Monument in Rigillis Square, while earlier, left-wing groups had planned counter-protests at the same location.

ELAS Official Announcement:

“It is hereby announced that, by decision of the Director of the Athens Police Directorate, all outdoor public gatherings related to the 29th anniversary of the Imia incident are prohibited from 06:00 on February 1, 2025, until 06:00 on February 2, 2025, within the area enclosed by the following streets: Vasilissis Konstantinou Ave. – Vasilissis Alexandras Ave. – Vasilissis Sofias Ave. – Ploutarchou – Patriarchou Ioakeim – Skoufa – Lykavittou – Amerikis – Stadiou – Syntagma Square – Filellinon – Vasilissis Amalias Ave. – Vasilissis Olgas Ave.

This prohibition is imposed due to the serious risk to public safety arising from the simultaneous gatherings of opposing groups, which could potentially lead to the commission of serious crimes. Additionally, there is a significant threat of disruption to the socioeconomic life both in the immediate vicinity of the gatherings and in the broader area of central Athens.”
