January ended with good weather, sunshine, and unusually high temperatures for the season. However, according to meteorologists, February is bringing a cold front.
Specifically, meteorologists report that the cold front will begin on Monday (3/2), bringing a shift in weather conditions. Temperatures will drop 3 to 6 degrees below normal levels, and northern winds will strengthen, as stated by Thodoris Kolydas, director of the National Meteorological Service (EMY), in a social media post.
“Rainfall will mainly affect areas influenced by the northern flow (eastern and southern regions). There is also a trend towards a low-pressure system forming in the Central Mediterranean after the first ten days of the month, which usually brings significant rainfall,” he noted.

“possibility of snow showers in attica above 200 meters on thursday”
Sakis Arnaoutoglou, in his forecast for the coming days, does not rule out the possibility of snow showers in Attica on Thursday (6/2).
Specifically, he stated:
“For Attica, since many have been asking, I will repeat what I said. Thursday is a day when snow showers may occur even in Attica, above 200 meters on average. It doesn’t look extreme—when we talk about scattered snow showers, we mean brief bursts here and there. But we will have to wait and see next week if this forecast changes, or if the probability for more significant snowfall increases or not.”
