Ana Maria Marković, often referred to as “the world’s most beautiful footballer,” has announced her departure from Braga after just half a season with the Portuguese club.

The 25-year-old, who previously played for Zürich and Grasshoppers, reached a mutual agreement to end her contract, leaving her next career move open.

Marković, who boasts over three million followers on Instagram, made headlines last month when she emotionally admitted in a video that she “hates football” while bidding farewell to her partner, footballer Tomás Ribeiro, who signed with Farense.

Despite her short stay at Braga, Marković said she grew as a player. In a heartfelt social media post, she shared:
“Sometimes things don’t go as planned. After half a season, I’ve decided to leave Braga. It was a short but intense journey, with ups and downs, but one that helped me develop. The best part? Definitely my teammates. Thank you for your support, team spirit, and all the amazing moments on and off the field. You were fantastic! A huge thanks to the club for its professionalism and to the fans for their support. Life goes on, and I’m excited for the next step!”

Braga confirmed her departure in an official statement, thanking her for her contribution and wishing her success in her future career.
