A shot in the sternum was taken for treatment at the Wildlife Action facility, a flamingo (Phoenicopterus roseus) that had been found in an area of the municipality of Lagada by employees of the Central Macedonia Protected Areas Management Unit.

According to a statement by the organization, after an examination of the animal and an X-ray examination, it was determined that it was wounded by a firearm as a bucket was found in the area of the sternum.

Seven incidents since January

As an indication, in January they had seven poaching incidents with wounded animals, namely, a buffalo, four hawks, a Mediterranean silverback, and a palm civet.
