Weather: Cold until next Tuesday – Up to 6 degrees below normal in Attica and Thessaloniki

Cold weather from today with forecasters predicting similar weather conditions for several days.

Typical is the post of meteorologist, George Tsatrafillias, according to which “the cold has arrived”.

According to his estimate, “the temperature will be at least 6 degrees below normal for the season.”

He even presents graphs for Athens and Thessaloniki that show the cold weather will persist at least until next Tuesday, February 11.

The weather forecast by EMY until Sunday

For tomorrow Thursday in the eastern mainland (except eastern Macedonia and Thrace), the Sporades, Evia, the Cyclades and Crete, clouds are forecasted, partly cloudy with light local showers and some snowfall in the mountains of Evia, the Peloponnese and Crete. In the rest of the country the weather will be almost clear with a few clouds, increasing locally from the afternoon in the western Peloponnese.

Winds will blow in the west east southeast 3 to 5, in the east from the north 4 to 6 and in the Aegean 7 to 8 Beaufort. The temperature will be low. In the northern mainland and the islands of the northern and eastern Aegean it will reach 8 to 10 degrees. In the central and southern mainland it will reach 10 to 12 degrees. In the Ionian islands, the western mainland and the islands of the central and southern Aegean it will reach 13 to 15 degrees Celsius. Frost will occur in places in the central and northern mainland in the morning and evening hours.

On Friday, cloudy weather is forecast throughout the country, partly cloudy and partly cloudy. Local rain or sleet will occur in the eastern mainland (except eastern Macedonia and Thrace), the Sporades, Evia, the Cyclades and Crete. A little snow will fall in the continental mountains and in the mountains of Crete.

The temperature will not change significantly and will remain below normal for the season. Frost will occur in places on the mainland in the morning and evening hours.

On Saturday and Sunday in the eastern mainland (except eastern Macedonia and Thrace), the northeastern Aegean islands, the Sporades, Evia, the Cyclades and Crete, clouds with local rain are forecasted. In the rest of the country a few clouds, partly cloudy, partly increasing in the Ionian Sea. Snowfall will occur in the continental mountains and in the mountains of Crete.

Winds will blow from eastern directions 4 to 6 and in the southern Ionian Sea up to 7 Beaufort. In the east, winds will blow from the north at 5 to 7 Beaufort and in the Aegean Sea locally up to 8 Beaufort, with a tendency to weaken slightly from Sunday noon. The temperature will not change significantly and will remain below normal for the season. Frost will occur in places on the mainland in the morning and evening hours.
