The event, held under the auspices of the Holy Metropolis of Derkoi, was organized in collaboration with the newly founded film production company Kozmopolis Ince Cizgi. Among the prominent guests were Sinem Dedetas, the Mayor of Skoutareos, a representative from the Armenian Patriarchate, historian and author Pelin Batu, academics from the city’s universities, figures from the arts, and many others.
The documentary highlights the perspectives of graduates of the Theological School, starting with those of the Ecumenical Patriarch. It also features contributions from His Eminence Metropolitan Apostolos of Derkoi, Metropolitan Chrysostomos of Myra, Konstantinos Delikostantidis, Archon Teacher of the Nation and Director of the First Patriarchal Office, and Antonis Chatzopoulos, Archon Hieromnemone and Director of the Historical Archive of the Ecumenical Patriarchate. Additionally, historian Pelin Batu and Professor Salih Inci also provide insights.

Filmed over the course of a year, the documentary was shot at various locations including the Theological School of Halki, the Ecumenical Patriarchate, and Medeniyet University in Istanbul. It not only uncovers the history of this prestigious institution but also delves into the cosmopolitan past and the religious and cultural diversity that defines Istanbul.
Metropolitan Geron Derkoi Apostolos emphasized the historical and cultural significance of the Sacred Theological School in his speech, while the directors, Fatih Ozturk and Okan Seker, shared fascinating details about the film’s creation and production process.

The Theological School of Halki Today is set to be showcased at both domestic and international film festivals across Europe, the United States, and Australia. Supported by the Holy Metropolis of Derkoi, the documentary aims to engage a global audience, raising awareness about the rich historical and cultural heritage of the Theological School and its ongoing legacy.
