Alexis Kougias: Hospitalized in intensive care – He is fighting for his life

Difficult times for Alexis Kougias and his family as the well-known criminal lawyer fights for his life.

The news that his health is in a very critical condition was made known today by his own children who made a post confirming relevant rumors circulating in the last 24 hours.

According to reports, Alexis Kougias is being treated in the intensive care unit of the Metropolitan Hospital and his condition is very serious.

The Instagram post made by Christos and Maira Kougias in which they refer to Alexis Kougias’s “very critical condition” is as follows:


“About reports concerning our father’s health, we confirm that his condition has indeed been very critical lately, without giving further details. We ask you to respect our privacy and not to press us to make statements on the matter on television. We expect, even now in these difficult times, that you will show respect to our family and our father’s loved ones.”

Alexis Kougias: Immunotherapy, cancer, and his everyday life that hadn’t changed

In a recent interview, Alexis Kougias revealed that he has recently been following a treatment that has resulted in some alterations to his image.

Specifically, he said that he is undergoing immunotherapy, after a series of tests that showed him that in a year or two a cancerous tumor may manifest in his body.

Speaking to Proti Leksi and protothema.gr, Kougias had confessed that he was diagnosed with cancer, but nothing changed in his daily life. He said, he had chemotherapy and continued to go to the courts saying “You know you’re going to die but you have to live beautifully.”

Regarding his health problem, Alexis Kougias explained that it all started in 2021 when, after an accident on the highway on St. Nektarios Day, he decided to fast for the first time in his life. A few days later, he underwent a general examination, where he discovered that he had cancer.

“My health problem arose unexpectedly after I had an accident on the highway, St. Nektarios, in 2021. I fasted for the first time in many years and after fasting I decided to have a general check-up. As I did. There it was revealed that I had cancer, but I didn’t have any serious cancer. I had prostate cancer. I was treated after six months, and I am still being followed up. In this procedure, very important machines have been introduced in the unit, which can predict with CT and MRI scans whether cancer can occur in certain parts of the body after a long period,” Alexis Kougias explained.
