A 53-year-old woman was deceived into placing €10,000 under a trash bin, believing the money was needed for urgent surgery on her allegedly injured son following a supposed car accident. This incident marks yet another case of phone fraud targeting unsuspecting victims—this time in Yannitsa, Pella.

The scam took place last April, and after thorough investigations, local law enforcement identified the woman who allegedly collected the money from the designated location.

According to police reports, the suspect is a 33-year-old Bulgarian woman, against whom a case file has been filed. Meanwhile, the identities of her accomplices—who made the deceptive phone calls, impersonating both a surgeon and the victim’s injured son—remain unknown.
