Influencer Andrew Tate and his brother Tristan left Romania early this morning on a private flight bound for the US, news website G4media.ro reported, citing airport sources.
Romanian prosecutors have approved the request of Andrew Tate -who is an open supporter of U.S. President Donald Trump– to travel abroad pending a criminal investigation against him, they said a short time ago.
Andrew Tate and his brother Tristan, who hold dual U.S. and British citizenship, were arrested in Romania in 2022 and charged with human trafficking, sexual harassment, money laundering and forming an organized crime group. The two brothers have denied having committed any offences.
Although they had been banned from leaving Romania, sources cited by local media said prosecutors earlier this month granted their request to travel to the U.S.
Last week, the Financial Times reported, citing sources, that U.S. officials brought up the Tate brothers’ case -both former kickboxing athletes- during a phone call with the Romanian government, lobbying for the restrictions against them to be lifted.
