Volodymyr Zelensky reiterated Ukraine’s commitment to peace, stressing that no one wants an endless war. “Ukraine is ready to come to the negotiating table as soon as possible to bring peace closer. No one wants peace more than Ukrainians,” he said in a post.
The Ukrainian president expressed his readiness to work together under the “strong leadership” of Donald Trump to achieve a lasting peace. He said Kiev is ready to move quickly toward ending the war, with the first steps including a prisoner exchange, a ceasefire in the air – which would include a ban on missiles, long-range drones and bombing of energy and other civilian infrastructure – and an immediate ceasefire at sea, if there is a corresponding response from Russia.
Referring to Friday’s meeting at the White House, the Ukrainian president said it “did not turn out as it should have”, expressing regret over its outcome. At the same time, he stressed the need for “corrections” and more constructive cooperation in the future.
Finally, he also said that Ukraine is ready to sign the mineral and security agreement at any time and in any form, calling it “a step towards greater security and guarantees.”
