In 2024 an astounding $1.9 million was raised and $1.5 million in funding was allocated to national and international organizations

Newsroom March 6 12:41

National Philoptochos of the Greek Orthodox Archdiocese of America is pleased to issue its 2024 Impact Report and to announce that in 2024, an astounding $1.9 million was raised, and $1.5 million in funding was allocated to national and international organizations through its extensive programs and ministry commitments. The Ecumenical Patriarchate, every Metropolis of the Greek Orthodox Archdiocese, Youth Ministries including Camping and YAL, Greece, Buenos Aires, Nigeria, Argentina, and US locations devastated by natural disasters, to name a few, all received significant support through the tireless efforts of the National Philoptochos throughout the United States.

Major 2024 donations included:

– Hellenic College Holy Cross $407,000
– Saint Basil Academy $240,000
– Fire Relief in Greece $156,000
– Social Services in the US $115,737
– Ecumenical Patriarchate $110,000
– Metropolis of Buenos Aires $75,000
– Clergy and Presvyteres Benevolent Fund $67,000

These funds provided critical support to countless individuals, institutions, and communities, offering relief, aid, and hope to those facing adversity. Additionally, National Philoptochos Social Services efforts extended assistance to individuals and families navigating a vast spectrum of challenges—whether financial hardship, medical crises, natural disasters, or unforeseen emergencies—ensuring that help was available in times of greatest need.

It is important to note that this 2024 Impact Report and these contributions reflect the generosity and outreach of the National Philoptochos under the leadership of its Chairman, Archbishop Elpidophoros, and the National Philoptochos Board. Additional significant and selfless philanthropy is also extended through the eight Metropolis Philoptochos Boards, the Archdiocesan District, and the 500 Philoptochos Chapters located in every Greek Orthodox Parish in America.

True Philanthropy—Φιλανθρωπία– is more than just writing a check—it is the love of humankind in action. It is a commitment to embracing others, fostering meaningful change, and creating a world rooted in compassion, understanding, and unity. For over 90 years, Philoptochos has embodied this mission, not only through financial assistance but also by offering resources, building community, and uplifting those in need. Philoptochos has never stopped asking, “How can we help?” Philoptochos’ response to this simple question has been profound.

As the 2024 Impact Report forcefully demonstrates, National Philoptochos continues to be a powerful force for good—a beacon of light and a testament to the strength of women united in purpose. With gratitude, accountability, and transparency, we celebrate all that has been accomplished and remain focused on our vision for the future.

Philoptochos’ 2024 Impact Report confirms and asserts the organization’s 90-plus year history: INSPIRING WOMEN, IMPACTING LIVES, BUILDING HOPE: 25,000 National Philoptochos Women with one voice: Philoptochos is the Army of Agape (Love)!
