A man was found dead in the Omonia area inside the apartment where he was temporarily staying. The man was bound hand and foot and had a bag over his head.

According to initial reports, the victim is approximately 40 years old and was discovered on the bed of the apartment.

Based on the rental information provided by the owner, the victim was an American citizen.

The incident came to light when the owner of the Airbnb apartment, rented by the victim on Kolokynthous Street, entered the apartment to clean.

Police officers from the Hellenic Police (EL.AS.) have arrived at the scene and are conducting an investigation. It has already been confirmed that there is surveillance footage. The initial findings indicate that the man had been locked out of the apartment, and someone later brought him the keys.
