According to diplomatic sources close to the Élysée, the meeting will focus on the situation in Ukraine and the key issues to be discussed at the upcoming European Council.

The French President and the German Chancellor will also discuss a plan to strengthen the European Union’s defense capabilities, which aims to mobilize approximately €800 billion, as well as the challenges posed by a potential trade war against the EU, which U.S. President Donald Trump is reportedly considering launching.

Meanwhile, on Friday, President Macron met in Paris with key figures from the French defense industry, including representatives from Dassault, Airbus, Safran, and Gicat.
