EuroBasket 2025 Draw Details
The Greek national team will learn its opponents for Group C of the 2025 EuroBasket tomorrow, Thursday, March 27, at 15:00, during the first-phase draw held at the Riga in Latvia.
Greece has been placed in the second seeding group, alongside Latvia (co-host), Lithuania (assigned to Finland’s group), and Slovenia.
Tournament Schedule & Host Cities
The games for Group C, where Greece will compete, will take place in Limassol, Cyprus, between August 28 and September 4.
Each of the four co-host nations—Latvia, Finland, Cyprus, and Poland—had the right to select a “partner country” to be placed in their respective groups. Cyprus selected Greece, while Latvia chose Estonia, Finland picked Lithuania, and Poland partnered with Iceland.
This marks a historic milestone for Cyprus, as it will participate in a EuroBasket final phase for the first time as a co-host nation.
Turkey Excluded from Group C
As per a decision by the FIBA Europe Board, Turkey cannot be drawn into Group C, meaning it will not face Greece in the group stage.
The tournament’s four groups will be hosted in the following cities:
- Group A – Riga, Latvia
- Group B – Tampere, Finland
- Group C – Limassol, Cyprus
- Group D – Katowice, Poland
Draw Process & Seeding Groups
A total of 24 teams will be drawn into four groups of six, with teams divided into seeding pots based on the FIBA Men’s World Ranking.
The four host nations and their partner countries will be assigned to their respective groups first. These teams cannot be drawn against other hosts or partner countries from the same seeding group. The remaining teams will then be drawn accordingly.
