RSVpreF (Abrysvo) for Pregnant Women
The RSVpreF (Abrysvo) vaccine is recommended for pregnant women ≥18 years old, between 32 and 36+6 weeks of gestation, expecting to give birth between October and March. It is administered intramuscularly in a single dose and can be given alongside anti-D immunoglobulin, the flu vaccine, Tdap, and the COVID-19 vaccine.
- A prior RSV infection does not prevent vaccination.
- If a pregnant woman has a feverish illness, vaccination should be postponed until recovery.
- The vaccine is contraindicated for individuals with a severe allergy to any of its components.
