The weather will remain unstable on Sunday, March 30, 2025, with meteorologists predicting increased cloud cover, local showers, or short-lived rainstorms across the country at intervals.

Thunderstorms are expected to develop initially in the eastern and southern regions and, by midday and afternoon, in the Ionian and other mainland areas. A brief improvement is expected in the west from the afternoon onwards. Light snowfall will occur in the mountainous mainland areas.

Winds will be variable and light, while in the seas, they will blow from southerly directions at 3 to 5 Beaufort. Temperatures will remain relatively stable, reaching 17-19°C in most areas and up to 20°C in the southern island regions.

“Expect heavy rainfall until midweek, with localized strong storms—mainly from Monday—along with seasonally normal temperatures,” said Theodoros Kolydas, director of the Hellenic National Meteorological Service (HNMS), in a post on Twitter.

Meteorologist Giorgos Tsatrafilias also posted on social media, predicting rain across the country until next Thursday.

He noted, “The highest rainfall amounts will be recorded primarily in central Greece, the Cyclades, and the eastern Aegean, and secondarily in western and northern Greece.”

According to him, “The European and American weather models, as well as AI forecasts, all indicate rain until next Thursday. The rainfall will be beneficial, with the highest amounts expected in central Greece, the Cyclades, and the eastern Aegean, followed by western and northern Greece.”

Wind & Temperature Outlook:

  • Winds: Southerly winds will prevail until Monday, followed by northerly winds, reaching up to 7 Beaufort (locally up to 8 Beaufort in the southeastern Aegean on Monday).
  • Snow: Light snowfall will be observed in mountainous regions.
  • Temperature: Temperatures will remain at seasonally normal levels.
  • Dust: Between Sunday and Tuesday, mild episodes of African dust transport will affect eastern and southern Greece, especially island regions.
