As the last of the Easter holiday travelers make their way back to urban centers today, they can expect to encounter widespread rain and thunderstorms. According to the National Meteorological Service (EMY), the heaviest rainfall and thunderstorms are expected in Thessaly, the Sporades, Evia, and eastern Central Greece starting from the morning, with similar conditions anticipated in Macedonia later in the day. Some areas could experience brief hail showers.
General Forecast
Unstable weather will continue with rain and sporadic thunderstorms beginning in Thessaly, the Sporades, Evia, eastern Macedonia, Thrace, and temporarily in the central and northern Aegean. Conditions could become quite severe in certain areas until the afternoon, with brief hail showers not ruled out. A gradual improvement is expected from the evening onwards across most regions.
Visibility in the mornings will be locally limited in the west.
Winds will blow from the north at speeds of 3 to 5 Beaufort, gradually increasing in the Aegean to 6 to 7, and later in the north, locally reaching 8 Beaufort.
Temperatures will rise slightly in the west, reaching 22 to 24 degrees Celsius, while the rest of the country will experience temperatures between 19 and 21 degrees Celsius.
Macedonia and Thrace
Weather: Partly cloudy with local rain and sporadic thunderstorms, initially in eastern Macedonia and Thrace, gradually spreading to other areas. Thunderstorms could be severe in places during the midday hours, tapering off by evening in Thrace.
Winds: From the north at 3 to 4 Beaufort, and northeast at 4 to 5 in the east, increasing to 6 to 7 Beaufort in the afternoon.
Temperature: Between 10 and 22 degrees Celsius; 3 to 4 degrees cooler in western Macedonia.
Ionian Islands, Epirus, Western Central Greece, Western Peloponnese
Weather: Few clouds, increasing in the afternoon with local rain or showers, particularly in the mainland where sporadic thunderstorms may develop.
Winds: From northern directions at 3 to 4 Beaufort, shifting to easterly at 4 to 5 Beaufort in the afternoon.
Temperature: Between 12 and 24 degrees Celsius, with 3 to 4 degrees cooler in inner Epirus.
Eastern Central Greece, Evia, Eastern Peloponnese
Weather: Partly cloudy with local rain and sporadic thunderstorms, particularly in eastern Central Greece and Evia, where storms may be severe. Conditions will gradually improve by evening.
Winds: From the north at 3 to 5 Beaufort, increasing to 6 to 7 in the east by late afternoon.

Cyclades and Crete
Weather: Periods of clouds with local rain in the morning in the Cyclades and mainly in the afternoon in Crete, where isolated thunderstorms may occur.

Eastern Aegean Islands – Dodecanese

Initially, increased cloudiness with occasional rain in western and central Macedonia, Thessaly, Evia, the Cyclades, the Dodecanese, and Crete. The weather will gradually improve across most areas, except in Crete and the Dodecanese, where conditions will persist.
Winds will blow from eastern directions at 4 to 6 Beaufort in the west, and from the north at 5 to 7 Beaufort in the east, locally reaching 8 Beaufort in the Aegean.
Temperatures will drop in the central and northern regions to around 18 to 19 degrees Celsius, reaching 22 to 23 degrees in the west, locally up to 24 degrees, while other areas will see highs of 20 to 22 degrees Celsius.

Generally clear skies over most of the country. Some increased cloudiness is expected in Evia and the Cyclades, while localized rain will continue in Crete and the Dodecanese.
Winds will come from eastern directions at 4 to 6 Beaufort, shifting to northern winds with the same strength in the afternoon. In the east, northerly winds will be at 5 to 7 Beaufort, reaching locally 8 Beaufort in the Aegean.
A further drop in temperature is expected, particularly noticeable in most eastern areas.

Temporary increased cloudiness in the central and southern Aegean with localized rain in Crete and the Dodecanese, where storms may be severe at times. Generally clear skies elsewhere in the country.
Winds will shift from eastern directions at 4 to 6 Beaufort, changing to northern winds from the afternoon, maintaining the same intensity in the west. Northeastern winds in the east will be at 5 to 7 Beaufort, with localized gusts of 8 Beaufort in the Aegean.
Temperatures are expected to remain stable.

In the Cyclades, Crete, and the Dodecanese, expect unstable weather with rain and sporadic thunderstorms. Most of the rest of the country will enjoy mostly clear skies.
Winds will blow from the north, ranging from 4 to 6 Beaufort in the west and 5 to 7 in the east, with occasional gusts of 8 Beaufort in the Aegean, especially in the morning.
Little change in temperature is anticipated.
