The tone of the debate in the Parliament has risen, following Zoe Konstantopoulou‘s reference to the naming of the Pavlos Bakoyannis Hall.
Specifically, Ms. Konstantopoulou referred inside the Parliament to the naming of Room 168, where the Tempi case file is kept and is named after the politician Pavlos Bakoyannis – who was assassinated on 26 September 1989 by the terrorist organisation “17 November”, saying that there is no equivalent hall named after “Gregoris Lambrakis” – who was a man who fought for peace in the Greek Parliament.
“We don’t have a ‘Gregoris Lambrakis’ hall, because he was not a relative of Mr Mitsotakis and Ms Bakoyannis,” Zoe Konstantopoulou said specifically.
The reference by the chairwoman of the party, “Plevsi Eleftheria,” provoked a harsh reaction from the government spokesman, Pavlos Marinakis, who described Zoe Konstantopoulou’s references as a “monument of shame.”
“This statement should be condemned by all political parties, if they have not already done so…and it is another typical case that the only thing that characterizes Ms. Konstantopoulou is hypocrisy,” Pavlos Marinakis said.
