Mitsotakis on Klavdia: She spoke about the genocide with respect and strength

"Congratulations are due to Klaydia and to all the contributors of the Greek participation in Eurovision, as well as to the ERT administration", commented Pavlos Marinakis

Newsroom May 18 05:01

The Klavdia has done it and won 6th place at this year’s Eurovision in Basel, Switzerland. The 22-year-old sang Asteromata and moved both with her voice and her stage presence.

Prime Minister Kyriakos Mitsotakis and Deputy Prime Minister Pavlos Marinakis posted on social media to congratulate Klavdia and the entire Greek participation. The prime minister began his regular Sunday post with a reference to Klavdia.

The Prime Minister’s message

In his message, Mitsotakis began with Klavdia, writing:“Good day to you. With you with yet another review, with actions of the week that got the coveted “12”, to talk in Eurovision terms. Before we begin, I would like to say a few words about Klavdia, the talented girl who deservedly represented us at Eurovision and made us proud, touching our hearts with her talent, ethos, strength and character quality. Klavdia proved, by winning the audience and the committees, that good music and Greek tradition have the power to unite people, without discounts, easy impressions and clichés. She spoke about uprooting, and she did so with respect and power. Today, on the eve of the Day of Remembrance of the Pontian Genocide, her interpretation takes on even greater significance. It was a bow to the memory and endurance of a people. And a proof that art can unite, teach and heal. Congratulations to Claudia, her team and ERT for the excellent result.”

The message of Pavlos Marinakis

In his message Pavlos Marinakis said: “Congratulations are due to Klavdia and all the contributors of the Greek participation in Eurovision, as well as to the ERT management. Many congratulations, not only for the extremely honorable position that our country received, but also for the overall flawless presence.”

Many congratulations to all the management and the management of the Greek national team.
