A 41-year-old man was found dead on Thursday afternoon (May 22) in a rural area of Rafina, inside a vineyard, after a search that lasted nearly 18 hours. Before taking his last breath, the man managed to call his wife. He named the person who had shot him and tried to reach a location where he could be found and receive help. However, his strength quickly gave out, and he died in the vineyard.
His wife immediately notified the police, and an investigation began, though for hours it yielded no results. Eventually, his bloodied mobile phone was found, and a short distance away, the man was discovered dead.
The 41-year-old, of Albanian origin, was reportedly known to authorities for various past offenses. The man he identified as the shooter is also of Albanian origin and known to law enforcement for involvement in drug-related cases. He is currently being sought. Police believe the motive behind the crime was a settling of personal scores.
