Prime Minister Kyriakos Mitsotakis is participating in the United Nations Ocean Conference, which began today in Nice, France.
The conference agenda includes key global concerns such as climate change, marine pollution, biodiversity, and sustainable fishing.
During his national address at the plenary session of the 3rd UN Ocean Conference, Mitsotakis announced that Greece will establish two new national marine parks—one in the Ionian Sea and another in the southern Cyclades—by the end of this month.
The Greek Prime Minister also addressed maritime security issues. Referring to the decarbonization of the shipping industry, he stressed that such a transition must be comprehensive to be effective.
