Emergency security measures for Israeli and Iranian targets in Greece – Patrols increase

The Hellenic Police (ELAS) is on high alert following the large-scale attack carried out by Israel against Iran on Friday. Security authorities are increasing protection measures for Israeli and Iranian targets located in Athens and Thessaloniki.

The Government Council for National Security (KYSEA) is holding an emergency meeting today under Prime Minister Kyriakos Mitsotakis, while the relevant ministries are also on standby. According to sources, the authorities’ priority is to protect Greek citizens who are currently in the war zones, as well as to take precautionary measures within Greece.

As mentioned, emergency security measures will be taken for Israeli and Iranian targets located in Greece. Specifically, patrols will be increased, along with the number of personnel guarding these sites. Additionally, plainclothes security officers will be stationed at points of interest.
