In an official statement, the amateur sports club (A.S.) PAOK confirmed that Aristotelis (Telis) Mystakidis will personally fund and undertake the construction of the new Toumba Stadium.
The full announcement:
On Monday, June 16, 2025, the regular Board of Directors meeting of the Club took place, during which the following items were discussed:
- The issue of the PAOK Fan Card was discussed. In collaboration with PAOK FC, the card will be issued this year and will contribute financially to the club’s amateur divisions through the purchase of season tickets as well as individual match tickets for PAOK FC’s games at Toumba Stadium. A working group from the amateur club was formed to cooperate with a corresponding group from PAOK FC to ensure the initiative launches alongside the release of season tickets. Further details will be announced soon and in due course.
- The board discussed and decided on a strategic commitment to ensure that all departments of the club are in the best possible shape ahead of PAOK’s 100th anniversary, with the support of all stakeholders and, of course, the PAOK fan base.
- Sponsorship issues were discussed, especially those related to the 100th anniversary of PAOK’s founding.
- Following the General Assembly of PAOK FC on June 2, 2025, and its recommendation that A.S. PAOK now has the responsibility to proceed with the construction of the new PAOK stadium, the following steps were taken:
- A declaration was made that A.S. PAOK is present and, with the support of its fans, will do everything possible to realize the new stadium.
- There was a waiting period for a possible denial or new statement from the club indicating that the project would be undertaken by PAOK FC — but none came.
- We faced relentless pressure and calls from fans urging: “Do something for the new stadium, find investors.” This, combined with our own passion for seeing the new stadium built, activated the entire PAOK family to seek out an investor.
Indeed, thanks to the efforts of PAOK supporters, we established contact with Mr. Aristotelis Mystakidis, a well-known PAOK supporter and native of Thessaloniki.
We discussed all things related to PAOK, and especially the major challenge of building our new stadium.
After numerous discussions, he agreed and committed to personally fund the necessary capital for the construction of PAOK’s new UEFA-standard stadium in Toumba, replacing the current one.
Today, the Board of Directors of A.S. PAOK authorized its President, Athanasios Katsaris, to sign, initially, a cooperation agreement with Aristotelis Mystakidis for the construction of the new PAOK stadium in Toumba.
