Phidias Panayiotou: Journalists don’t do their job well and I have to do it myself

The MEP claimed that he did in 1 year what journalists have not done in 20 years in terms of reporting on the functioning of the EU

Newsroom July 9 07:46

Cypriot MEP Fidias Panagiotou, after disparaging the work of thousands of European Parliamentarians since the founding of the European Parliament until today, saying that they basically worked on the instructions of others, and only his election changed things, it is the turn of journalists.

Speaking to Alpha Cyprus, he said that he is also forced to do the work of journalists because, for 20 years that Cyprus has been a member of the EU, journalists have failed to inform about what is happening in the EU. As he argued, because of the inadequacy of journalists, he is also forced to do their job. He said that he achieved in one year what journalists had not done in 20 years, in terms of informing the public about the functioning of the EU.

In earlier statements, he had disparaged the work of all Cypriot MEPs from 2004 to date, and the vast majority of his colleagues, claiming that they are maintaining the war in Ukraine because they vote for sanctions against Russia and in favour of sending aid to Ukraine.

A few days ago, he co-signed a motion of impeachment against Ursula von der Leyen, claiming she is responsible for scandals and called on his social media followers to “vote” on an app he has created and let them decide whether he in the vote should vote “against Ursula and her clique.”

He also announced that he wants to hire a new partner at the European Parliament to edit the videos he creates. He noted that candidates don’t need to know editing because he will teach them himself!
