China today criticized US President Donald Trump‘s “unauthorized” decision to imposing 50% customs tariffs on copper, which was announced yesterday, Wednesday, considering that it does not serve “the interests of any party”.
“We have always opposed the overly broad concept of national security, which Trump has put forward as the motivation for his decision, said Chinese Foreign Ministry spokeswoman Mao Ning.
“We have also always believed that arbitrarily imposing customs duties does not serve the interests of any party, the spokeswoman added, with this additional tariff set to take effect on August 1, according to the US president.
