Erdogan’s provocative visit to the occupied Cyprus for the 51st anniversary of the Turkish invasion – He insists on calling the bloody Attila operation a “Peace Operation”

Turkish President Recep Tayyip Erdogan traveled to the Occupied Territories on the occasion of the 51st anniversary of the Turkish invasion of Cyprus, according to the statement by the Director of Communications of the Presidency, Burhanettin Duran.

The statement:

“On July 20, 2025, our President Recep Tayyip Erdogan will visit the ‘Turkish Republic of Northern Cyprus’ in order to attend the ceremonies that will take place on the occasion of the Day of Peace and Freedom and the 51st anniversary of the Cyprus Peace Operation [i.e., the Turkish invasion].

As part of the visit, our President will meet with the President of the ‘TRNC,’ Ersin Tatar, and will participate in the inauguration and groundbreaking ceremonies of certain projects that will be implemented with the support of our country.”

The Turkish Minister of National Defense in the Occupied Territories as well

It is noted that today the Turkish Minister of National Defense, Yasar Guler, also traveled to the Occupied Territories, accompanied by the Chief of the General Staff, Metin Gurak, and the Commanders of the Armed Forces.

During their presence there, they visited the Parliament and met with the Speaker of the Parliament, Mr. Ziya Ozturkler.
