Stefanos’s tennis career has long been tied to his father and coach, Apostolos, who guided him from the start until their separation on August 9, 2024. Their partnership came to an abrupt end following a 2-0 loss to Japan’s Kei Nishikori in the second round of the Montreal tournament, during which Stefanos was seen angrily shouting at his father during the first set. The next day, he announced the end of their coaching relationship.
Now, one year later — and after working with three different coaches — Tsitsipas has announced just hours before his debut at this year’s Montreal tournament that Apostolos is once again back by his side as his coach.
