Authorities are trying to piece together the nearly five-hour gap between two key video recordings that may help solve the mystery of the little girl found dead in Paleo Faliro. Whatever happened to the child likely occurred during this critical time frame.
Investigators are analyzing two videos that show an unidentified woman with three children. The first recording, captured around 9:30 p.m. near a kiosk close to Eden Beach in Paleo Faliro, shows the woman with all three children, including a little girl in a stroller. The second video, recorded around 2:00 a.m., shows the same woman pushing an empty stroller, now accompanied only by the two older boys. She removes items from the stroller, abandons it, and then leaves the area with the boys in a taxi.
Police and Coast Guard officials are now reviewing additional surveillance footage to trace the taxi’s route and identify the driver, who may recall where he dropped off the woman and children.
A small but potentially significant detail caught investigators’ attention: in the second video, the woman appears to be wearing her dress backwards—possibly a sign she got dressed in a hurry, perhaps at the beach, suggesting a rushed departure.
Authorities are also examing a photo believed to show the little girl, taken earlier that same evening. She appears to be wearing a hat despite the late hour, her face is covered, and her position in the stroller suggests she may have been unconscious or asleep. Only she is wearing a swimsuit, which has raised questions about the evening’s activities.
The coroner confirmed that the child suffered from a metabolic disorder, and investigators are considering whether the prolonged heatwave may have worsened her condition. One theory suggests that the woman, possibly the children’s mother, took them to the beach hoping it would help—but if that’s the case, it’s unclear why only the little girl was wearing a swimsuit.
So far, the timeline is as follows:
- 9:30 p.m. Saturday: The woman is seen buying items for the children from a kiosk and then walking away with all three.
- 2:00 a.m. Sunday: She is recorded again, now with only the two boys, pushing an empty stroller, then boarding a taxi and leaving.
Investigators continue to work through the timeline, hoping more details from surveillance footage or witness accounts will help explain what happened during those five hours—and ultimately, what led to the little girl’s tragic death.
