U.S. President Donald Trump returned to the issue of Gaza, emphasizing that the quickest solution to the humanitarian crisis in the region is the immediate surrender of Hamas and the release of the hostages.
“The fastest way to end the humanitarian crisis in Gaza is for Hamas to surrender and release the hostages,” he wrote in a social media post.
At the same time, U.S. special envoy Steve Witkoff is meeting with Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu in Jerusalem, according to CNN.
Witkoff arrived in Israel on Thursday, one week after the U.S. withdrew from ceasefire talks in Gaza, accusing Hamas of negotiating in “bad faith.”
