Specifically, there have been 12 cases in Achaia, 3 in Aitoloakarnania, 24 in Preveza, and 7 in Chios.

Since yesterday, 12/08/2025, the National Emergency Ambulance Service (ECAW) has remained on full operational readiness to meet emergency pre-hospital care and ambulance needs in the fire-affected areas.

The Unified Coordination Operations Centre (UCOC) and the Health Operations Centre (HCOC)  maintain continuous communication with regional branches, health units in a state of heightened readiness, and the General Secretariat for Civil Protection. This ensures immediate coordination and rapid reinforcement of resources where needed.

ACHAIA

Eleven ambulances are currently deployed in the region, including one Mobile Medical Unit, with plans to increase capacity if conditions require.

Since the fire began, a total of 12 people have been transported by ambulance:

• 7 cases (1 with minor burns and 6 with respiratory issues) were taken to the University General Hospital of Patras (Rio).
• 3 cases were treated at nearby health centers and accommodated in a municipal shelter for temporary housing.
• Following the preventive evacuation of the Kato Achaia Hospital, 2 patients were transferred to the Varda Hospital.

AITOLOAKARNANIA

Stamna area: The region is served by four ambulances from neighboring areas.

Since the outbreak, three people have been transported:

• 1 firefighter with an upper limb injury and 1 elderly person with respiratory problems were taken to the General Hospital of Messolonghi.
• 1 person was transferred to the Aitoliko Hospital (injury due to a fall).

PREVEZA

Eight ambulances are active in the area, with further reinforcements planned if necessary.

Since the start of the fire, 24 people have been evacuated:

• 7 cases with respiratory problems were taken to the Health Center of Thesprotiko after a settlement evacuation.
• Following the preventive evacuation of the Health Centers in Thesprotiko and Filippiada, 8 patients (4 from each) were transferred to the General Hospital of Arta.
• From the town of Filippiada, 9 more patients (8 with respiratory problems and 1 firefighter with burns) were also sent to the General Hospital of Arta.

CHIOS

Five ambulances are currently operating, with reinforcements on standby if needed.

Since the fire began, 7 patients with respiratory problems have been transported to the General Hospital of Chios “Skylitseio.”

Additionally, 10 firefighters received first aid on site for respiratory problems and minor burns.
