An operation to rescue four foreigners in the sea area of the bay of Agios Oros is underway, after the sinking of the boat they were on.

Under the coordination of the Unified Search and Rescue Coordination Centre (EKSED), two floating patrol boats of the Limerikos Body and a Super Puma helicopter of the Air Force are operating at the site to locate and recover them.

Weather conditions in the area are good while winds are blowing from the northwest at 4 Beaufort.

The cause of the sinking of the vessel remains unclear at this time.
