The prosecutor of appeals, Zoi Smyrli, has been elected as the new head of the Athens Court of Appeals Prosecutor’s Office.
Specifically, Ms. Smyrli secured the majority of her colleagues’ votes during the election for the new head and was elected over her opponent, Vasiliki Krina, who was not elected.
It should be noted that the election took place due to the promotion of the former head, Georgios Katzidis, to the Supreme Court (Prosecutor’s Office of the Supreme Court).
The position of head at the Court of Appeals Prosecutor’s Office is crucial due to the gravity of the cases that must be decided from time to time.
