Dendias from Italy: Two Bergamini frigates coming soon and two more to follow

The Minister of National Defense met with his Italian counterpart, Guido Crosetto, and they signed the relevant protocols for the procurement of Bergamini frigates

The visit of the Greek Minister of National Defense Nikos Dendias, to Italy concluded with the signing of two protocols for the acquisition of two Bergamini frigates, with the option to procure two more at a later stage.

“The door is now open for us to acquire two FREMM frigates like the one we are currently on, with the option to acquire two more,” Mr. Dendias emphasized, noting that these are “ten-year-old ships with excellent capabilities and in excellent condition.”

“We discussed with my counterpart the possibilities for further developing our defense relations. We agreed on the importance of our cooperation within the EU and in the Mediterranean, as well as in the fields of the defense industry and innovation,” Mr. Dendias added.
