Scenes of panic unfolded yesterday afternoon in the city of Lavrio when the balcony of a two-story building collapsed, crashing onto the street. The incident caused extensive material damage to four parked cars and resulted in the minor injury of a woman who was passing underneath.

It was shortly after 3 p.m. on Tuesday when a section of the parapet fell onto the balcony. Due to the added weight, the balcony detached and crashed onto the road in front of a pharmacy located on the ground floor of the building. In the video footage presented by protothema.gr, the balcony can be seen collapsing and landing next to a woman who was walking on the sidewalk at that moment.

As shown in the footage, the woman was miraculously saved as a large mass of concrete and debris fell from a height of 2 meters, landing just a few centimeters from her body.

The woman runs to save herself, and some bystanders help move her away from the scene.

Fire Department units rushed to the scene and recorded the material damage, as there were no reports of serious injuries.
