The meeting of SYRIZA’s Political Secretariat is still ongoing, but the atmosphere that has formed is overwhelmingly against the move for a rupture led by Pavlos Polakis and his supporters. According to information, the only ones who disagree with the proposal put forward by Sokratis Famellos — which calls for alignment with Tsipras — are Pavlos Polakis, Tryfon Alexiadis, and Andreas Panayiotopoulos.

The same sources report that even Nikos Pappas has ultimately sided with Famellos’s proposal, despite having appeared in recent weeks — even after Tsipras’s resignation — to be very close to Polakis’s views. So far, there has been no reaction whatsoever from Tsipras’s camp.

In his presentation, the president of SYRIZA stated that Tsipras’s actions produce strong political results and create new conditions, declaring himself in favor of alignment and categorically disagreeing with Pavlos Polakis’s position, who had described the former prime minister’s departure from the party as divisive.
“This is not a split — I am completely opposed to Polakis,” said Sokratis Famellos.
