Tragedy on the Itea–Antirrio provincial road: 21-year-old killed, 37-year-old seriously injured in road accident

A tragic accident occurred shortly before noon on Sunday (October 26, 2025), near Agios Nikolaos Efpalio, leaving one person dead—just 21 years old—and another, aged 37, seriously injured.

The fatal crash happened on the provincial road between Itea and Antirrio, when a pickup truck driven by a 49-year-old man, reportedly attempting to turn toward Agios Nikolaos, collided with two large motorcycles coming from the opposite direction. The impact resulted in the death of one of the riders, aged 21, and the serious injury of the other, aged 37.

The injured motorcyclist was taken by EKAV ambulance to Agios Andreas Hospital in Patras. A 14-year-old boy who was a passenger in the pickup truck was also transported for treatment, fortunately with non-life-threatening injuries.

The road was covered with debris, and traffic on the Itea–Antirrio route was temporarily halted until firefighters cleared the scene. The Efpalio Police Department is conducting an investigation into the causes of the deadly crash.
