With cloudy skies and locally slight showers, the weekend starts in much of Greece, while a slight drop in temperature and a reduction in the weather is forecast from the middle of the new week.
Meteorologists point out that November starts without strong phenomena, but with a typical autumnal setting: increased clouds, temperature changes and occasional rain. The first days of the month are characterized by mild conditions and small temperature fluctuations, with temperatures remaining close to normal for the season.
Friday’s minimum temperatures
Low temperatures were recorded in the morning hours of Friday 31/10 on the mainland and in Crete, while frost occurred in Fort Nefrokopi and in the Lassithi Plateau.
Today’s weather
Showers and thunderstorms will occur in the Ionian Islands, the Peloponnese, areas of Central Greece and possibly Epirus, and mainly in the mountainous parts of Crete. The phenomena will be locally intense mainly in the Central Ionian Islands and the Peloponnese.
The temperature will range in Western Macedonia from 3 to 20 degrees Celsius, in the rest of Macedonia and Thrace from 7 to 21-23 degrees, in Central Greece from 7 to 21-23 degrees, in Epirus from 8 to 22-23 degrees, in the rest of the mainland from 10 to 22-24 degrees, in the Ionian Islands from 15 to 20-21 degrees, in the Aegean islands and Crete from 12 to 21-22 degrees, while locally in the Dodecanese and Crete the maximum will reach 24 degrees Celsius.
The winds will blow in the Aegean from the north with 4-5 Beaufort and in the Ionian Sea, south southeast with the same intensity, while in the wider area of Kythera an easterly current will prevail, also with intensities up to 5 Beaufort.
In the prefecture of Attica and in the city of Athens we expect partly cloudy conditions with the possibility of sporadic thunderstorms mainly in the south. Winds will blow from eastern to northeastern directions with intensities of 3-4 Beaufort. The temperature will range from 17 to 23 degrees Celsius.
In Thessaloniki we expect partly cloudy weather. The winds will blow north-northwest with intensities of 2-3 Beaufort. The temperature will range from 13 to 22 degrees.
The weather on Sunday, November 2
In Macedonia and Thrace generally clear weather with a few local clouds. In other areas cloudy at times. Local showers of short duration will occur in the Ionian Sea, Epirus, Central Greece, Peloponnese and Crete. Visibility in the morning and evening hours will be locally limited.
In the early morning and early afternoon, the weather will be light and cloudy.
Winds will blow in the west east southeast at 3 to 5 Beaufort and in the east from the north with the same intensity.
The temperature will not change significantly and will reach 22 to 24 degrees Celsius and locally in Crete and the Dodecanese 25 degrees Celsius.
The weather on Monday, November 3
In the west increasing clouds with local rain and isolated thunderstorms. In the rest of the regions the weather will be almost clear with a few local clouds. Visibility in the morning and evening hours will be locally limited.
Winds will blow from southern directions 3 to 4 Beaufort and only in the Dodecanese region will prevail light northwestern winds.
The temperature will drop slightly in the northwest.
The weather on Tuesday, November 4
On the mainland and in the central and northern Aegean Sea increasing clouds with showers and occasional thunderstorms. In the rest of the regions, a few clouds, partly cloudy with occasional local showers in the Ionian Sea and from the afternoon in the Cyclades. Visibility in the morning and evening hours will be locally limited.
The winds will initially blow southwest at 3 to 4 Beaufort, but will quickly shift to north and central areas to north 4 to 6 Beaufort and from noon locally in the northern Aegean up to 7 Beaufort.
The temperature will drop.
The weather on Wednesday, November 5
In the eastern mainland and the Aegean increased clouds with local showers and occasional thunderstorms. From the afternoon the phenomena will be limited in the central and southern Aegean and will stop in the rest of the regions. In the remaining areas a few clouds, partly cloudy and partly increasing. Visibility in the morning and evening hours will be locally limited.
Winds will blow north northeast at 3 to 5 Beaufort in the west and 4 to 6 Beaufort in the east and 6 to 7 Beaufort in the Aegean Sea.
The temperature will drop.
