The Minister of Migration and Asylum, Thanos Plevris, sent a message to illegal migrants to voluntarily request to return to their countries, on the occasion of the conviction of the 30 who attempted to escape from the Sintiki facility and were today sentenced to three years in prison without suspension.

“The message to the others is clear: Request that to go home, cause otherwise you will both be imprisoned and deported,” Mr. Plevris notes in his post on X.

The Migration Minister emphasizes that their future in Greece is predetermined: Detention, prison, and return to their home country.
