The Police have announced a ban on public gatherings this Sunday in central Athens, as well as in Filothei and Chalandri, due to the visit of Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky.
The ban will be in force from 6:00 a.m. on Sunday until 10:00 p.m. the same day.
Specifically, the Police state:
“It is announced that, by decisions of the Directors of the Athens Police Directorate and the Northeastern Attica Police Directorate, all public outdoor assemblies are prohibited on Sunday, 16-11-2025, from 06:00 until 22:00, on the occasion of the visit of the President of Ukraine to Athens, in the following areas enclosed by the streets:
Municipality of Athens
Vas. Konstantinou Ave – Vas. Olgas Ave – Vas. Amalias Ave – Xenofontos – Filellinon – Syntagma Square – Stadiou – Amerikis – Likavittou – Ilias Rogakou – Kleomenous – Ploutarchou – Rizari – Vas. Konstantinou Ave.
Municipalities of Filothei–Psychiko and Chalandri
Kifisias Ave – Vekiarelli – Griva Digeni – 25th Martiou – Bizaniou – Korytsas – Benaki – Kokkoni – Kifisias Ave – Agamemnonos – Ag. Varvaras – Serron – Kifisias Ave.
The above ban is imposed because the holding of assemblies poses a serious threat to public safety due to the potential commission of serious crimes, especially against life, physical integrity and property, and poses a significant risk of disrupting the socio-economic life of the affected areas.”
Zelensky’s Schedule
According to reports, Zelensky is expected to arrive at Athens International Airport shortly after 12:00. His first stop will be the Presidential Mansion at around 13:00, where he will hold talks with Mr. Tasoulas. Shortly after 13:45, he will head to the Maximos Mansion for a meeting with the Prime Minister.
Later, at 15:00, he will visit the Hellenic Parliament, where he will meet with Nikitas Kaklamanis, before returning to Kyiv.
