Police operation JAD Mobile 8 yields major results: 231 stolen cars found in 6 Greek regions in 11 days

The Greek Police took part in the European operation “Joint Action Day (JAD) Mobile 8,” targeting organized crime related to property offenses. Coordinated by Frontex, the initiative involved multiple EU countries, third-party nations, and agencies including Europol and Interpol

From October 20 to 31, 2025, intensive vehicle and identity checks were conducted across Greece—specifically in Attica, Thessaloniki, Kilkis, Fthiotida, Thrace, Serres, and key border points (Mertzani, Krystallopigi, Kakavia). The operation aimed to identify stolen and tampered vehicles.

Key Results:

  • Across Europe, 462 stolen and forged vehicles were detected, marking a significant increase from last year.
  • In Greece alone, 6,548 vehicles were inspected (1,263 more than last year), resulting in 231 stolen or falsified vehicles found (57 more than last year).
  • Authorities arrested 84 illegal immigrants and 21 human traffickers.
  • Narcotics weighing 199.56 grams were confiscated.

The Greek Police participated through the Organized Crime Division, with support from the Attica Immediate Action Directorate.

This operation is part of a broader European effort under the “Empact” framework, involving countries such as Austria, Bulgaria, Croatia, Czechia, France, Germany, Italy, Spain, Sweden, and others, as well as third countries including Albania, Kosovo, Moldova, Montenegro, North Macedonia, Serbia, and Switzerland.

During the operation across Europe, 462 stolen and forged vehicles were identified (232 more compared to the same operation last year). In Greece alone, 6,548 vehicles were inspected (1,263 more than last year), resulting in the discovery of 231 stolen and forged vehicles (57 more than last year). Additionally, 84 illegal immigrants of various nationalities and 21 traffickers were arrested, and narcotics weighing a total of 199.56 grams were confiscated.
