Alexis Tsipras poses no threat to PASOK, Anna Diamantopoulou said Thursday morning, reminding that “we are talking about a politician who was defeated 5 times and his party suffered 7 splits.”
“We are talking about a book that has not been published, a party that has not been announced, and a politician who, after being defeated 5 times, and his party suffered 7 splits and abandoned that neither left nor right. He wants to re-enter the political scene to touch which strata? And with which concept and with which allies?” the PASOK political planning secretary told Action 24
“Because he has the characteristics of a divisive politician, he is now dividing his own party. Every announcement about his book 2-3 of his comrades come out and contradict him? And you want me to consider a man with these characteristics a threat to PASOK?” Ms Diamantopoulou continued.
He commented that “the communication policy he (Alexis Tsipras) is implementing is to be taught. After winning awards in various countries, he went to Harvard for 20 days, now we had the cover of the book and after its publication, but a small child understands these things.”
In fact, referring to one of the excerpts from the book released by the former Prime Minister, Anna Diamantopoulou said, “he talked about the difficult emotional moment when he forgot his child’s birthday, but does he remember how the MPs of that era felt when their children saw the hangings in the squares? When the cupboard of history is opened, skeletons will come out of it.”
“PASOK has nothing to fear from Tsipras, it will move according to his plan,” he added in this context.
Asked finally about the possibility of Kyriakos Pierrakakis being chosen as the new president of the Eurogroup, Anna Diamantopoulou replied, “I wish, it will be an important success for the country”.
