However, he noted that the text has not yet been subject to detailed discussions with the Russian side and emphasized that the U.S. has so far been unable to secure Ukraine’s agreement to the plan.

In remarks Friday at the Russian Security Council, Putin added that Trump’s peace plan had been discussed prior to the Alaska meeting on August 15. He described the plan as “updated” following the Alaska talks.

Additionally, Putin said that the U.S. had requested Russia to demonstrate flexibility in resolving the Ukraine issue and stressed that all of Russia’s partners had expressed support for potential agreements ahead of the Alaska summit.
